Cannes: Riviera glamour at Hôtel Majestic Barrière

Cannes: Riviera glamour at Hôtel Majestic Barrière

Once you set your eyes on the Majestic Barrière you will be starstrucked. No, you may not meet George Clooney in the impressive entrance hall (and if you do – lucky you!), but you sure will feel like one of his fellow colleagues. At Majestic Barrière the Film Festival Palace is your closest neighbour and the hotel sure knows how to treat its guests. Prepare to be pampered and impressed. Isn’t that why you pay for luxury accomodations like this?

Upon our arrival, the friendly staff in the reception asked us if we wanted to enjoy lunch in the hotel restaurant, La Petite Maison de Nicole, while our room was being prepared. Who says no to fancy ratatouille and fish under the Riviera sun? It sure tasted as good as the 100 euro’s we paid for it (and a bottle of refreshing rosé wine).

So, how was the room?

We were delighted by the generous welcome gift that waited for us by the bed. Chocolates, macarons, juice, wine… Would we fit into our bathing suits if we ate a bit more? Let’s hope. The interior was elegant. Nothing crazy or wow, just calming and comfortable.

When we wasn’t away on adventures we mostly hung by the outdoor pool. The Barrière also has a private beach, La Plage, where you, besides laying down under a parasol, can go parasailing, wake-boarding or water-skiing. This hotel offers it all when it comes to thrilling water sports.

A lovely place to stay when you’re in Cannes.
