English: I just got home from two weeks of traveling through California. San Francisco was one of the stops and I immediately fell in love with this exciting city. Not only because of the historic Victorian houses, the Golden Gate bridge, the cable cars or the beautiful bay. With more than 3000 restaurants SF also offers a great variety of quality food. Here are some amazing places to eat:

Trendy restaurant that offers Italian food in a lively atmosphere. A safe bet for mouth-watering pasta and pizza. Make a reservation in advance, because this place gets crowded in the evenings.
The Slanted Door
Where: Ferry Building, 1 Ferry Building #3, San Francisco

Modern Vietnamese cooking with high quality ingredients and sustainability in mind. Weather you like street food or complex entrees, this is the place to eat Vietnamese food in San Francisco. Also very popular among the locals.

Whether you have a sweet tooth or love grilled sandwiches, you will like Tartine Bakery. Here you’ll find your new favourite pastries, cakes, tarts and bread.
Where: 596 Pacific Ave, San Francisco

The Station focuses on local, fresh and organic ingredients and is a perfect place for breakfast. Don’t miss their croissant sandwich with organic eggs and Provolone cheese. Add some avocado and tomato to it, and you will have a very, very good start of the day.
Where: North Beach, the northern waterfront area of San Francisco

Even though some would say that Fisherman’s Wharf is a tourist trap with seafood restaurants serving the exact same dishes (it kinda is), I would say: try it anyway! Especially the seafood stands have some really good items. Buy a lobster sandwich to-go and enjoy it while walking along the harbour.
Looking for a place to stay in San Francisco? I stayed at the historical and quite charming two star San Remo Hotel in North Beach. Great location and small but cosy rooms. All rooms share bathroom, and that worked out fine. Address: 2237 Mason Street, San Francisco.
