Handmade gnocchi with parmesan cream and black truffle. Taste the words. We came back two days in a row just for this dish. If we had not been so curious trying other restaurants in Mykonos town we would have eaten here the whole week.
The interior at Kalita is very stripped down. In the outdoor eatery you are surrounded by rustic concrete walls and palm trees in a beautiful light. The atmosphere is calm, but not boring.
Kalita’s cuisine can be described as traditional Greek food with a modern touch. For starter, try the creative mini moussaka with feta mousse and tomato powder (pictured above). And as I mentioned earlier, do not miss the gnocchi. The lamb is also a good choice as a main dish. As a sweet finale, we tried both the baklava millefeuille with ice-cream and thyme honey, and chocolate mousse on a crispy base with peanut butter and salty caramel sauce. With a glass of sweet wine, life could not have been any better at that moment.
When talking about wines… Kalita’s wine list offers good Greek wines (my favorite contains the agiorgitiko grape).
To sum up the experience: this is one of Mykonos best restaurants. If not the best.
